Current Projects

TSI Project

NOAA Fisheries Aquaculture Office

TSI is currently supporting the development of an environmental assessment for an aquaculture grant project. Specifically, TSI is preparing the economic impact analysis that would include modeling efforts to estimate the future number of jobs and revenue from the operations of the Proposed Action. The economic impact analysis evaluates costs associated with equipment; costs associated with fingerlings, feeds, and other consumables during the growouts; operations cost throughout the growout phase including items, such as fuel, labor, and routine vessel service; information from product sales and market price; and costs associated with compliance and permitting. For this project TSI is also developing a breakeven analysis, and developing projections for profit, scalability, and feasibility.

TSI Project

NOAA Northeast Fisheries Science Center

TSI is currently supporting the NOAA Northeast Fisheries Science Center by updating a recreational fishing statistical model toolbox. The current recreational fishing model is used by the Northeast Fishery Management Council to decide and implement management measures for recreational fisheries in New England and the Mid-Atlantic. TSI is modifying the existing R code for efficiency and modularity by reprogramming it to employ vectorization, functions, and other approaches to make the code quicker and more versatile and creating a graphic user interface for reporting capabilities. When finished, the code will be deployed through the NOAA Fisheries Integrated Toolbox so that it can be accessed and used for fisheries management actions.

TSI Project

NOAA Office of Sustainable Fisheries

TSI is currently providing records management support by developing policies and procedures (related to records management), improving organizational efficiency to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations regarding records management, and working with Federal Record Managers to develop and maintain a tracking system for records disposition in accordance with appropriate authority.
